Respere was founded in mid 2007, to provide solutions, services and support for the Sahana Disaster Management System and related technologies, made possible by the open source model. Our key Solutions include the Sahana DMS, the Sahana Evacuation System and the Sahana Messaging & Alerting System.We provide a host of world-class services and support, including 24x7 customer support, Respere Enterprise Network and various end user and power-user training programs.

Our customers range from small to medium size NGOs, to global Enterprise level organizations to various national Governments throughout the world.

The name Respere is derived from the latin word Spero, meaning hope, whilst Respire, which originates from Spiro in latin means to breathe. Thus the well known saying: "Dum spiro spero", meaning, "While I breathe, I hope". A fitting saying for the perfect name, cos we empower hope, and by being the sahana company, we empower relief
